Heat treatment - Heat treatment furnace

NIRAS conducts tempering and/or tarnishing of steel.

We offer one of the most modern furnaces for heat treatment in Europe. The furnace is specifically constructed for heat treatment of steel, and has a capacity of 3.5 tons and 1150ºC. This is Norway's only approved furnace for heat treatment of steel in accordance with Norsok 650.

The furnace is tested and approved for heat treatment with temperatures between 580°C and 1150°C. Cooling of the object happens in a self produced pool holding 65 tons of water.

Heat treatment and cooling is logged electronically. By measuring the temperature in the furnace, on the object and in the water pool we make sure we always have full control of the whole process.
