Pipes and hollow sections
NIRAS has induction bending machines for most bending jobs.
NIRAS is an abbreviation of Norsk Induksjonsrørbøying AS, a name which means - in plain English - that we bend pipes, but we also bend many other shapes. We have extensive experience of bending a number of different hollow sections. One of our specialities is bending both standard and non-standard profiles, such as for the building industry. The flexibility of our bending machines gives architects and constructors a unique freedom of choice in the design of steel constructions. But what we do most of is bending round pipes and the greater part of it goes to the oil and gas industry, both domestic and international.
Pipe dimensions we can bend: outside diameter (OD) from 16 mm. to 406.4 mm. (16"), wall thickness from 1.2 mm. to 40 mm.
Dimensions of hollow section we can bend: max 300 mm. x 600 mm.
The radius can be steplessly adjusted from 60 mm. to 22,000 mm. Be aware that the minimum radius depends on material quality and thickness. Normally we do not recommend smaller centre radius on a round pipe than 2D (2 x OD).
